Man, there’s nothing more depressing than reading the front page of the Detroit News’ website today. The top three headlines today are as follows (paraphrased, but only slightly):

• Michigan Feels Brunt of GM Bankruptcy - State hit with 7 of 14 plant closures.
• Milk Price Crash Takes Toll on Dairy Farmers - A collapse in milk prices has wiped away the profits of dairy farmers across Michigan. 

And easily the most depressing of all, if only because of its high placement on the page:

• FBI Tallies Fewer Murders In Detroit

Looks like ‘08 was a banner year in having-less-murders for the Motor City!

If that’s front page news, then it’s enough evidence for me that Detroit totally sucks.
